I Spy... Shannon Rankin

I was reading Shannon Rankin's blog selflesh and immediately clicked on to explore her flickr album @ flickr.com/photos/selflesh. It seems like Shannon has been spending the last couple of months exploring new directions for her work and has been documenting her process on flickr.

I spotted her latest work in progress (pictured above), looks like she's preparing for an embroidery show - and quickly wanted to post about it for a couple of reasons...

One, in spite of what she says in the comments, it certainly works for me! But most of all, I hope it inspires a few adventures... venture out and seek other mediums, depart from the usual and go somewhere uncomfortable.
